Ever since the experiments of Fox Talbot, Daguerre and others culminated in Photography, the relationship between the new medium and art has been fascinating, with initial compositions often influenced by past artists, sometimes copying great works to the finest detail. "Ever since I first entered the Rothko room at Tate Modern, I have been captivated by his work as well as other 20th century Abstract and Pop artists, British and American; many acknowledge the influence of photography on their work. Since we have opportunity to use ever more sophisticated software to ceate abstract images, I have explored how my photogaphs might be able to pay homage to the works of the artists who have inspired me." Bridget Riley, Andy Warhol, Jasper Johns, Damian Hirst, Banksy, Robert Rauschenberg and Peter Blake amongst others have been the inspiration for the series of works.
