Wine-trees 3 bottle rack in Artisan hand carved wood
Brought to us by a reliable contact, we thought these organic wine-trees were a great fit and addition to our eclectic collection of handmade items. They are expertly carved from one piece of wood and made by a family business in the town of Chiang Mai. Selling the trees provides important income to the family and the community in which they live.
We thought the wine-trees make a super sculptural addition to a space as well as being entirely practical. And an excellent gift for wine lovers and aficionados of wood carvings!
There are two sizes and three colours/stain. Shown here is the smaller version in dark and honey and a close-up of the shaded alternative.
Sizes: 3 bottles or 6 bottles
Colours: Dark, Honey or Shaded
An occasional coating with oil such as coconut oil helps to keep these wine-trees gleaming.
The wood is sustainable rain wood, also known as Samanea Saman or Albizia Saman, a flowering tree in the pea family. Chiang Mai is a city of 130,000 people in mountainous northern Thailand, home to hundreds of elaborate Buddhist temples, including 14th-century Wat Phra Singh and 15th-century Wat Chedi Luang, adorned with carved serpents.
