'Foraging' contemporary tiles/coasters by Alison Milner
This is a series of sets of six coaster imprinted with the minimal contemporary designs of Alison Milner. Alison has joined our makers for the first time this year, and as we have always loved her work, we 're delighted to include her. Coloured illustrations, fired onto pale cream Johnson tiles (with cork-spots on the reverse to prevent scratching).
Size of tiles 9.7cm x 9.7cm.
Since graduating from the Royal College of Art with an MA in Furniture Design Alison's work has developed and diversified and the relationship of nature to the built environment is a key theme.
Whilst working in many different materials, her preference is for the sustainable and natural, for example: clay, wood, paper, glass and enamel. However, she also works with processed materials such as plastic- laminates and vinyls. Her overall aim in to humanise the built environment and help people to feel a connection with the palces that they live and work in a subtle and very natural way.
Clients have included Habitat, Royal Doulton, Rathfinny Wine Estate, Macmillan Cancer Care, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, West London Mental Health Trust and London Parks.
