Recycled handmade earrings 'Lady with Eyes Closed' by Jan Cooper

Opulent vintage drop earrings made with a likeness to the characters from commedia dell' arte, these earrings are a small work of art, with their beautifully creative design and fabrication. Mixed materials make the shape, which is finely painted for the face by Jan and coated with resin to give a porcelain-like look. Upcycled and recycled fabric and decorations make up the overall piece.

The earrings are 5cm top to bottom.

Jan Cooper studied Graphics at Canterbury Art College, then went onto creating handmade 3D greetings cards. This inspired her to move onto making jewellery, which she does with various textiles. She loves to use gold, velvet and mixing fabrics with textured and rigid materials. Jan is an artist spending her life between Brighton and Sandwich, Kent.
