Ornate handmade pink and gold 'Seahorse' brooch by Jan Cooper
Enjoy this vintage-style and beautiful Seahorse brooch, using gold and lush pink gilded flowers to create the shape. Pulped paper and glue make the face, which is finely painted by Jan and coated with resin to give a porcelain-like look. Upcycled and recycled decorations make up the overall piece, and there's Jan's attention to detail with a great gold backing and the artist's name.
The brooch is 11cm tall.
Jan Cooper studied Graphics at Canterbury Art College, then went onto creating handmade 3D greetings cards. This inspired her to move onto making jewellery, which she does with various textiles. She loves to use gold, velvet and mixing fabrics with textured and rigid materials. Jan is an artist spending her life between Brighton and Sandwich, Kent.
