David Bailey: The Thanet Coast

This print of the watercolour original painting links together elements of the coast of Thanet, Kent, with its chalk cliffs, sandy beaches and houses on the clifftops as well as beach huts and of course the seagulls!

David Bailey is from Gillingham, Kent and says he wasn't much good at anything in school except art, so he was left to his own devices and later left to start a career as a graphic artist. Nowadays he pursues his dream of making a living from his painting. His watercolour pictures are either beautifully descriptive of scenery and animals, or a collection of amusing images, with seagulls and beach huts featuring often!
